Having only earlier today covered the Sanyo SCP-2700 QWERTY handset becoming available via Sprint, we’re featuring Sanyo for the second time today thanks to the official launch of their Sanyo Lp-WXU700 HD Projector which is billed as being the ‘industry’s First IEEE802.11n High-speed Wireless Wide XGA Ultra Portable LCD Projector’.

The Sanyo LP-WXU700, which offers wireless streaming of WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution imagery courtesy of the projector’s integrated 802.11b/g/n (draft 2.0) connectivity, fully embraces Windows Vistas Network Projector functionality (the projector comes with Windows Embedded CE 6.0) whilst offering 500:1 contrast ratio and 3800 lumens brightness via the LP-WXU700′s 275 watt lamp.

Billed as being compact and lightweight, the Sanyo LP-WXU700 HD LCD projector weighs in at just 3.6kg (hence Sanyo emphasising its ease of portability), the device, apart from offering wireless connectivity, sports a HDMI port as well as analog connections and a1.6x zoom lens allowing for ‘flexible placement’ and is being aimed specifically, according to Sanyo’s press release, at consumers seeking a projector for either conference or classroom work.

The Sanyo LP-WXU700 Portable HD LCD Projector is scheduled for release in Japan from 19th June and will purportedly retail at around the $6,495 (equivalent) price point.
