Samsung Tocco Lite (Budget Tocco) Set for UK Release

Samsung have announced that a somewhat stripped down version of the Tocco, known as the Samsung Tocco Lite (GT-S5230), is set for a UK release offering consumers a slice of Tocco touchscreen TouchWiz UI powered action at a cut down price.
The Samsung Tocco Lite, which measures in at a mere 11.9mm in thickness and which is a Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE device (i.e., not 3G), comes with a 3″ 262K color 240 x 400 resolution touchscreen display, integrated accelerometer, 3.2 megapixel camera offering video recording functionality in QVGA resolution at 15fps, Samsung’s DNSe 2.0 (Digital Natural Sound engine) music technology, built-in FM tuner with RDS, 50MB of onboard storage capacity and support for microSD cards. It also comes complete with Facebook, MySpace and YouTube widgets, which is sure to appeal to fans social networking.
The Samsung Tocco Lite is billed as being set for a May release in the UK but is yet to be priced – though, in mind of its cut-down feature set and obvious budget targeting, its not unreasonable to assume that it may well be offered for free on contract.
