OCZ Vertex EX SSD Range Officially Announced

OCZ have officially introduced their new OCZ Vertex EX range of premium solid state drives that follow on from their standard Vertex series of SSDs and which, according to OCZ, are ‘the pinnacle storage option excelling in performance, reliability, and power consumption that offer professionals and enthusiasts an unparalleled computing experience’.
The new 2.5″ OCZ Vertex EX SSD range, which utalise single-level cell NAND flash memory, are set to be offered initially in just two capacities – namely 60GB and 120GB – and are billed as being aimed specifically at enterprise applications and enthusiast consumers looking for ‘overall system responsiveness and stability for enterprise grade server solutions’ and offer purported read speeds up to 260MB/s and write speeds of up to 210MB/s (with sustained write speeds of 100MB/s) whilst offering low power consumption of just 2W during operation and a mere 0.5W whilst in standby.
