LG Viewty Smart Camera Phone Gets Official

LG have officially announced the follow-up to their LG Viewty – which, incidentally, has sold over 6.5 million units to date – in the form of the LG Viewty Smart which serves to build on the Viewty’s photographic capabilities with a range of enhancements that, according to LG, results in a cell phone that ‘takes better pictures and is easier to use than a standalone digital camera’.
Billed as being the slimmest 8 megapixel camera phone to be made available in measuring just 12.4mm in depth, the LG Viewty Smart, apart from touting 8 megapixel resolution with Intelligent Shot Mode capable of 1600 ISO sensitivity as well as video capture, comes with a 3″ WVGA (800 x 480 resolution) touchscreen display, S-Class UI, a-GPS (including geo-tagging), 1.5GB of integrated storage capacity which can easily be supplemented with MicroSD cards and both 7.2Mbps HSDPA and WiFi connectivity.
There’s no word from LG at the time of writing concerning the LG Viewty Smart camera phone’s pricing, however, LG have confirmed that the Viewty Smart is set to become available throughout Europe from May with further international rollouts following on thereafter.
