Following on from Asus’s announcement concerning their Eee PC 1002H netbook – and the news that the Asus Eee Top is now shipping in the US – Asus have officially launched yet another Eee PC netbook in the form of the Eee PC 1004DN which has the distinction of being the first Eee PC to come with an integrated optical drive.
Billed as being ‘an ultra-portable mobile internet device which provides mobile computing flexibility through intuitive interfaces and input methods while shrouded in an avant garde style’ (yup, okay), the Asus Eee PC 1004DNm netbook, apart from sporting a Super-Multi DVD optical drive, comes with all the usual specifications one expects from an Eee PC such as 10″ 1024 x 600 resolution display, 1.66GHz Atom N280 processor, integrated GMA 4500M graphics, 1GB RAM (expandable up to 2GB), 120GB hard disk and built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
So, in essence, more of the same except with the addition of an optical drive.
There’s no confirmation from Asus concerning either the Eee PC 1004DN’s intended date of shipping or price point.
