Twitter Paid Pro Accounts Confirmed for Power Users & Companies

Following on from the recent introduction of text ads, Twitter have confirmed that they are looking to offer paid pro accounts for power users and companies in the near future in return for what’s somewhat elusively being termed at this juncture merely as ‘more features’.
According to Twitter’s co-founder, Biz Stone, the pro paid Twitter accounts are set to launch some time this year, however, at this stage there’s no word concerning any specific roll-out date or, for that matter, any specifics concerning what the extra features associated with paid Twitter accounts will comprise of – though its reasonable to assume that some kind of analytics may form part of the fee based package.
“We are thinking about simple business products that enhance and encourage what is already happening,” states Stone in an email to Business Insider whilst adding that ‘Twitter will remain free for all to use-individuals and companies alike” whilst the fee based accounts are offered for companies looking to harness Twitter’s considerable, and ever growing clout (Twitter gained 9.8 million unique visitors in February, according to Stone, exclusive of mobile users) – from a commercial perspective.
