game boy advance game on dsi

According to a report originating from the Kombo gaming site, an announcement at a recent event for Club Nintendo members purportedly confirmed that the Nintendo DSi will be gaining its own Virtual Console which will allow Nintendo DSi owners to download Game Boy and Game Boy Advance titles from (we naturally assume) Nintendo’s DSiWare app store which, as we reported recently, is reportedly edging ever closer to an international rollout.

Nintendo have, however, and not all that surprisingly, refused to either confirm or deny that Game Boy and Game Boy Advance titles could be offered in the future to DSi owners to play via the reported DSi Virtual Console, so we should stress that, at this stage at least, the above should be treated as speculation (albeit seemingly informed speculation).

Personally, and I don’t doubt that many will disagree, we can envisage Game Boy/Game Boy Advance downloadable content going down a storm and its not as if we don’t have a precedent – after all the Nintendo Wii has just such a Virtual Console.

We wait with baited breath for official word from Nintendo on the matter but, make no mistake, we won’t be holding our breath (well, not for the time being anyhow).
