Elgato have announced that they have updated their Elgato Turbo.264 USB video conversion dongle, which converts a host of video formats to H.264 video to not only offer faster encoding but also to offer 1080p HD support, thus offering support for HD camcorder video formats such as AVCHD.
Capable of detecting AVCHD camcorders automatically whilst also offering support of MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 encoded content, the Elgato Turbo.264 HD USB video conversion dongle also offers support for QuickTime, AVI, DV, WMV, H.263, XviD and VIDEO_TS (as used on DVDs) formats and has just become available for $150.
