If you happen to own an Acer Predator Desktop Computer and you haven’t already noticed just how ‘hot’ this gaming rig actually is, you may be interested to know that Acer has just issued a voluntary recall of their Predator Desktop Computers as sold between May 2008 through to December 2008 – specifically model numbers ASG7200 and ASG7700.

According to Acer’s recall notice ‘The insulation on the computer’s internal wiring can become bent or stripped, causing the wires to overheat while the product is in use. This poses a burn hazard to consumers’ whilst follow up that they have ‘received two reports of computers short circuiting, resulting in melted internal components and external casing.’ Reassuringly they add that ‘no injuries have been reported.’

Consumers whose Acer Predator’s fall into the date range given above, whilst also being of the specified model numbers, should according to Acer, ‘stop using the product immediately unless otherwise instructed’.

If you believe that your Acer Predator falls into the remit as give above you can view Acer’s recall notice here which gives you a contact number to call in order to schedule a free repair of your Predator PC.
