TEAC America Inc. have announced their first foray into the world of HD radio technology with the introduction of their TEAC HD-1 HD Radio iPod/iPhone Docking Station.

“With digital radio reaching critical mass across America, TEAC is excited to unveil the HD-1, our introductory HD Radio product. In keeping with our heritage of offering consumers high-quality, high-performance products and stylish design, the decision to include HD Radio technology’s advanced digital entertainment is a natural one,” said Randy Madey, National Sales Manager, TEAC America, Inc. who announced the TEAC HD-1 HD. “The affordable HD-1 will be sold at Costco and is a great value proposition for consumers in this economy. The HD Radio receiver will deliver premium sound with an iPod dock and a seamless music buying experience via iTunes Tagging.”

Capable of offering access to what currently stands at around 2,000 HD radio stations and over 1,000 new FM HD2/HD3 channels, as well as supporting AM and FM radio broadcasts, the TEAC HD-1 HD Radio iPod/iPhone Docking Station sports Crystal-Clear Sound technology and, as well as offering radio alarm clock functionality, comes with front mounted LCD display for conveying radio band/station name as well as song/title/artist info and comes with headphone and video out connectivity.

The TEAC HD-1 HD Radio iPod/iPhone Docking Station will set you back just shy of $130.
