iRiver Dicple D31 Touchscreen PMP

We’ve been fans of iRiver for some considerable time now and its products like their new Dicple D31 portable media player which serve to further underpin our respect for them for, as well as serving as a fully featured PMP, the iRiver Dicple D31 also serves as an electronic dictionary, a PIM (Personal Information Manager) and a personal organiser as well as sporting an optional DMB tuner.

A truly versatile device that resembles a hybrid cross between a Nintendo DSi and ultra mini netbook, the iRiver Dicple D31 sports a 4.3″ 480 x 272 resolution 252K color LCD touchscreen with handwriting recognition capabilities, the aforementioned PIM function, a calendar and scheduler, multiple inbuilt dictionaries and FM radio along with offering support a veritable host file formats – specifically MP3, WMA, ASF and OGG audio, AVI and WMV video and JPEG, GIF, BMP, PNG, TXT, DOC, XLS, PPT, HWP, CSD and PDF.

The iRiver Dicple D31, which measures in at 140 x 80.8 x 19.6mm, additionally comes in two versions, one offering integrated DMB tuner whilst the other, known as the Dicple D31 Edu, comes with double the memory of the DMB version (8GB as opposed to the DMB version’s 4GB).

Purportedly offering up to 35 hours of audio playback or up to 5 hours of video playback, both versions of the iRiver Dicple D31 also (naturally) come with USB connectivity allowing them to sync with a PC. Unfortunately, however, being that the official product page is in Korean and is image based (thus resisting online translation tools) we’re unable to fathom the true extend of the Dicple D31′s capabilities.
The iRiver Dicple D31 appears to be a Korean only device as at the time of writing and, in line with previous models, we assume it’ll stay that way.
