Panasonic W8 Toughbook Notebook Premium SSD Edition Set for Japan

Panasonic have announced an updated, premium edition of its W8 Toughbook notebook for the Japanese market which sees the introduction of an Intel X-25M 80GB SSD (as opposed to the standard edition’s 120GH HDD) offering 250MB/s read and 70MB/s write speeds, the addition of which sees the new premium Panasonic W8 Toughbook come in as 15 grams lighter than the non-SSD version.

Apart from the addition of an SSD, the updated W8 Toughbook comes with high-strength aluminium shell, though Panasonic Japan’s press release, as linked below, offers little in the way of additional specifications – so we assume that part from the inclusion of a solid state drive little else has changed from the original ‘standard’ version of the W8.

There’s no work concerning pricing at this stage.
