Toshiba have debuted their new SD-P73DTW Portable DVD Player which comes with integrated 1Seg digital TV tuner and DVR capabilities – allowing the device to record TV programming on to SD/SDHC memory cards.

Measuring in at 190 x 31 x 161mm and weighing 820g excluding battery, the DivX compatible Toshiba SD-P73DTW portable DVD player/TV is capable of reading DVD Video, DVD-R/-RW, CD, CD-R/-RW optical discs and MP3 and WMA audio and JPEG file formats – the latter formats either from or directly from SD/SDHC memory cards (to which any recorded digital TV programming is also stored).

The Toshiba SD-P73DTW, which sports a 7″ 480 x 234 resolution LCD display, is set to be released in Japan from mid-October though at this stage Toshiba remain tight-lipped not only concerning battery life but also concerning pricing and as to whether the device will see an international release.
