ripnas

RipNAS offers a combination of audio CD ripping, NAS, and media streaming in one box. This easy to use device does not need a computer to run. You can rip and store audio CDs through multi-drive mirroring and then share them over devices attached to the storage. The RipNAS uses Windows Home Server as the OS of choice.

RipNAS basically offers one-step CD ripping. You insert the audio CD and it is ripped with the help of the dBpoweramp ripping engine to a lossless audio format of your choice. It takes between 3-4 minutes to rip a CD. RipNAS checks the tracks using AccurateRip and re-rips the tracks if there are any errors in them. Tracks with errors in them are stored in a separate folder.

You can back your Windows PCs automatically to RipNAS every night. This allows you a secure backup that lets you restore files or even your entire system. RipNAS integrates nicely into the Windows Home Server and you can edit status and settings from PCs on the network.

RipNAS is available in the following storage sizes – 320GB, 640GB and 1TB. Just for perspective, 320GB lets you store around 10,000 tracks.
