The Mvix DS-100 is a multimedia hub that is being touted as an all-in-one digital signage solution by MvixUSA. The DS-100 consists of a DLNA-compliant HD media player and a control portal. The DS-100 has a 16GB built-in flash storage and the content can also be made available via a UPnP server and an external USB hdd.
The flexibility in storage is a neat cost saving feature that businesses can take advantage of and use existing storage solutions. Also the Mvix DS-100 can be used without any extra costs for legacy configuration and replacement.
The advantage that the DS-100 offers is that it is a turnkey solution that dispenses with DVD and flash players. The hi-def digital signage can be scheduled for automatic streaming across multiple screens from one central PC. The remote network control portal PC can be connected via Wi-Fi or Ethernet LAN. You have the flexibility to not only control what’s being played on different signages but also play different content at the same time. The content to be displayed can be listed as a playlist and time limits can be set for each display. The content can be displayed in a cyclical manner. A remote control makes control handy for basic navigation on DLNA or UPnP devices.
The DS-100 plays the following video formats – MPEG?1, MPEG?2, MPEG?4, DivX 3.11/4, 5, XviD, WMV9 alias VC1 (MP @ HL) (up to 720p)p>. It also supports a wide range of audio and image formats.
As of now there’s no information on price and availability.
