Dell PZ310 Wasabi ZINK Printer now Available

Subsequent to its CES unveiling, Dell’s new handheld printer, the Dell PZ310 Wasabi ZINK printer, which offers color printing via both USB and wirelessly via Bluetooth (making it ideal for use with cell phones and PDAs), has just become available.
The Dell PZ310 Wasabi handheld printer, which utilises Polaroid’s ZINK printing technology – which ironically puts it in direct competition with Polaroid’s own ZINK based handheld printer, the Polaroid PoGo – and which is also utilised by Tomy’s Xiao TIP-521 Digital camera/printer combo, produces prints measuring 2″ x 3″ within a purported 60 seconds without the need for print cartridges thanks to the ink being impregnated in the ZINK paper itself.

Offering PictBridge support when printing via USB (though not whilst wirelessly printing via Bluetooth), the Dell PZ310 Wasabi ZINK Printer has just been launched at an introductory price of just shy of $100 with pricing set to rise to $150 once the launch promotion is over (though we cannot establish quite how long this introductory price will remain valid – so if you’re after one, best get in there pronto).
Incidentally, at this stage we should advise that the Dell PZ310 Wasabi is (surprisingly) not compatible with Apple’s iPhone, should you be looking to pair it with that device, though Dell appear to be working on getting both the PZ310 Wasabi and the iPhone to play ball together in the future.
