Samsung SE-S084B 8x CD/DVD External Burner in Range of Colors
Following on from the previously featured new LaCie d2 8x Blu-ray burner, and maintaining the optical storage theme for a moment, Samsung have announced a new external CD/DVD burner, the Samsung SE-S084B, which, apart from offering 8x burn speeds and broad DVD/CD format support, is set to become available in a wide range of colors designed to appeal to the fashion conscious.
The Samsung SE-S084B supports both 8cm and 12cm optical discs as well as offering support for a host of formats – specifically DVD-RAM, DVD+R, DVD+R DL, DVD+RW, DVD-R, DVD-R DL, DVD-RW, Light Scribe DVD+R, DVD-R, Light Scribe CD-R, DVD-ROM, DVD-Video, CD-R, CD-RW, CD-ROM, CD-ROM/XA, CD-Audio, Video-CD, Photo CD, CD-I (FMV), CD-Extra and CD-TEXT with write speeds ranging from 24x for CR-R/RW/ROM discs and 8x for DVD discs through to 5x write speeds for DVD-RAM discs.
Set to become available in black, white, silver, pink, blue, sky-blue and red, the Samsung SE-S084B, which comes with Automatic Ball Balancing System (ABS), Weight Balancing System (WBS) and Speed Adjustment technologies and which meets RoHS standards, can be placed both vertically and horizontally and will retail for around $80.
