With WMC ’09 looming, Samsung have formerly detailed their new 3G S8300 UltraTOUCH AMOLED touchscreen camera phone which, apart from sporting a 2.8″ WQVGA AMOLED touchscreen display, comes with an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash and Geotagging functionality (thanks to the S8300′s integrated aGPS) as well as comprehensive DAP and PMP capabilities and FM tuner with RDS.

Following on from a host of recently announced new camera cell phones such as the Sony Ericsson CyberShot 001, Samsung’s new 7.2Mbps HSDPA S8300 camera cell phone offers pretty much all the functionality you’d expect from a basic dedicated point and shoot camera including features such as face detection and smile detection whilst also offering broad multimedia support – namely DviX, XviD, H.263, H.264, WMV9, MPEG4 video and MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA audio file formats – as well as the aforementioned geotagging facility, GPS navigation, FM tuner with RDS, stereo Bluetooth (A2DP) and, impressively, it manages to pack all this in whilst measuring in at a mere 12.7mm in thickness.

In terms of onboard storage capacity, the Samsung S8300 comes with a 80MB which can be supplemented with microSD cards up to a maximum capacity of 16GB.

As you would expect, Samsung are yet to detail either the S8300 camera phone’s availability or pricing but with the S8300 undoubtedly set to debut at MWC we would hope these details will prove forthcoming at that juncture (so not long to wait).

In the meantime, here’s Samsung’s official press release concerning the S8300 (courtesy of Akihabara News) for those looking for a little detail.
