Toshiba TG01 - Windows Mobile Smartphone

Toshiba TG01

The Toshiba TG01 is a Windows Mobile Smartphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. The phone stresses screen size and multimedia ability – feature enhancements that Toshiba claims are based on customer feedback.

The handset will have an accompanying stylus although apparently the handset does not have a stylus silo. The VGA touchscreen is an impressive 4.1-inch wide with a 800 x 480 display. The onscreen keyboard looks like it has taken some inspiration from the iPhone. Gaming enthusiasts can rest easy as the 1GHz Snapdragon chipset is more than adequate for mobile games.

It remains to be seen how the interface responds to control maneuvers for the various internet-enabled games that title developers and Toshiba are working to develop. The handset supports DivX files and offers full Flash support for online video.

The TG01 features a clean design with only the essential hardware buttons present – these include buttons for the 3.2 megapixel camera, volume, and power. The TG01 is a sleek piece that this only 9.9 mm thin. It also has a microUSB port under a hatch offering suport to the 512 MB internal memory.
