Marantz BD8002 Blu-ray Player

Marantz has launched its flagship Blu-ray player – the BD8002. It offers 1080p video playback at 24 frames per second and can convert convert standard DVDs to high-definition pictures. The BD8002 can play DVDs, DVD-Rs, DVD-RWs, CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs, MP3 and WMA encoded files. An SD card reader on the front panel enables viewing of images on different devices.
Two SHARC Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) give a lossless hi-def audio experience as they can decode Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio. These formats are output via 7.1 channel analog connections or an HDMI 1.3a link for digital output. The HDMI 1.3a output supports the new Blu-ray 36-bit Deep Color standard. D/A converters offer 24-bit resolution and volume range is greater than 120 dB. The BD8002 is Profile 1.1 which means it does not support BD-Live.
Vibrations are minimized thanks to a multi-layered chassis which features a dual-layer top and a triple-layer bottom plate that ensure mass and damping against vibration. Metal tray guides protect against magnetic interference and dust. The Marantz BD8002 is available in Britain for 1,800 GPB.
