The iRiver E50 MP3 p player was released in December 2008 and at the CES in January, it did manage to impress all those who got a chance to get their hands on it and witness its performance. The E50 measures just 7mm thick and is a particularly compact DAP.
It has forsaken the bulkiness and plastic exterior of its predecessor, the E100. Instead it has a brushed metal exterior that not only adds to its durability but also makes it look slick. The controls do not protrude from the surface but are integrated into the exterior faceplate. The E50 MP3 player offers something that the iPod does not – a built-in FM radio.
The iRiver E50 MP3 player features a 1.8-inch LCD display screen with options for lyrics display, folder bookmarking, etc. Audio files supported include MP3, WMA, OGG, FLAC, and ASF. AVI and WMV video formats are supported and you can view JPEG, BMP, PNG, and GIF images.
Battery life is of an impressive 52 hours. There are three storage sizes on offer – 2, 8, and 8GB.
