BenQ has launched what it is calling the world’s first LED pocket projector. The BenQ GP1 has inbuilt USB connectivity which will allow users to view movies, slides, videos, etc without having to depend on a PC for connectivity to the projector.

You can also connect digital cameras, PDAs, iPods, iPhones, smartphones, gaming consoles, and laptops to the GP1. The projector enables viewing on screens up to 10 inches to 80 inches in diagonal size. Integrated speakers and a detachabele iPod dock are also present. An LCD engine is at the heart of the GP1 and manufacturers offer a 20,000-hour lamp life.

The BenQ GP1 offers 100 ANSI lumen perceived power of light which means it can project from a fair distance. It weighs a mere 1.4 pounds, is portable, and can be carried in a bag. The GP1 ensures picutre color quality with its BrilliantColor technology and a 120 percent NTSC color gamut. Preset and programmable modes for picture and video are available. The GP1 will be available in March for an MSRP of $599.
