Mio Launches Four Moov GPS Systems

Mio technology added four new models to its Moov series of PNDs. These are the S300, S500, S556, S700. The company plans to make them available in North America in the second half of 2009. All four models will use the Mio Spirit navigation software and feature advanced search capabilities that will enable users to identify points of interest close to their present location; in fact the Mio database of POIs has been expanded to include more than 12 million places. The new interface design allows for smoother navigation and easy-to-read map views.
The Mio Moov S700 is the premier model with a huge 7-inch display and the “MAD Maps” feature for users wishing to make use of preloaded routes. This piece will cost $299.99.
The Mio Moov S556 is a sleek piece with a 4.7-inch screen, integrated Bluetooth, lane guidance, and 3D junction images of main roadways and road signs. Suggested retail price for this model is $299.99.
The Mio Moov S500 offers preloaded maps of North America and text-to-speech functionality in three languages – English, Spanish, and French. It has a screen size of 4.7 inches and will retail for $249.99.
The Mio Moov S300 is the entry-level piece with the same features as the S500 except that it has a 3.5-inch screen and will retail for $199.99.
