Audiovox And MediaFLO Launch FLO TV

Audiovox and MediaFLO have joined hands to launch FLO TV to provide in-vehicle mobile TV. The Audiovox and MediaFLO combination will ensure that subscribers can enjoy live, in-vehicle mobile TV at vehicle speed and that too in urban environments.
This in-vehicle service will be launched in the third quarter of 2009 and will see around 25 channels being made available to the subscribers. At present the FLO TV service for mobile users offers 10 channels on select Verizon and AT&T Wireless handsets for a fee of $15 per month.
The FLO TV module will be easy to add to existing video systems, which is a neat feature, and will not require an external antenna or any visible hardware. Apparently the reception of the FLO TV module is going to be super-strong if its going to be able to provide an uninterrupted stream of video when the vehicle is passing through tunnels or is surrounded by tall buildings.
Audiovox aims to introduce the first generation FLO TV modules at a sub-$500 price point.
