Gracenote CarStars is an automobile application that comes with a clutch of features. The standout aspect of Gracenote is its ability to let your favorite music star recommend tracks based on the songs that you listen to. This is made possible by using speech generation technology from Voxonix. So, if you’re into oldies you can have long-gone singers, maybe Sinatra suggesting some smooth Dean Martin numbers for those long drives.
CarStars’ association with Omnifone, which offers a a mobile music subscription network, has led to the creation of a pay-feature called MusicStation. This will let you access music from several music labels as well as indie labels. MusicStation facilitates social networking so you can share music with your friends. This feature has another novelty up its sleeve, it can tie up with your car’s satellite navigation system and tell you which band is playing in the vicinity.
CarStars will also feature Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity for communicating with your mobile phone and MP3 player.
Specific details, release date and pricing for the gadget are not yet out though it is believed that Gracenote CarStars will be out in 2011 in a tie-up with a car manufacturer.
