Samsung has launched a series of home theater systems. These include the HT-BD8200 Blu-ray Home Theater Sound Bar; HT-BD7200 Blu-ray 2.1 channel Home Theater System; and the HT-BD1250 5.1 channel Blu-ray Home Theater System. All three offerings garnered accolades at the recently concluded CES in Las Vegas.

The HT-BD8200 is easily the standout product, being the first sound bar to offer a Blu-ray player with a Full HD 1080p playback. The HT-BD8200 is wall-mountable and just 2.6″ deep. The wireless subwoofer lets you experience high quality low pitch bass sounds. Connectivity with media players is through a built-in USB port or Bluetooth. You can enjoy content from mobile phones, digital cameras, media players, and also your iPod. The HT-BD8200 also offers you access to Netflix and Pandora music.

The Samsung HT-BD7200 2.1-channel Blu-ray home theater is a compact self-contained piece capable of 400W output and simulated 5.1-channel surround sound from its two speakers. It’s probably the only system out there that has speaker units constructed from kelp, which as far as I know is an edible seaweed. It is supposed to improve audio clarity; sound quality is also boosted by the amplifier engine that reduces amplifier and power supply noise. Wireless networking is through an optional 802.11 b/g/n USB dongle.

The HT-BD1250 offers 1,000 watts of output and 5.1-Channel sound. It can reproduce hi-def formats such as Dolby Digital Plus”, Dolby TrueHD” and DTS-HD Master Audio®.

All three models are expected to hit the stores in the first half of 2009.
