ASUS has unveiled a prototype of its new tablet PC at a press conference at CES 2009 – the Eee PC T91 touchscreen netbook. Yup, a tablet PC and netbook both, read on to get enlightened the subtle difference between the two. As of now there is no official press release from ASUS detailing the features and aspects of its new line of netbooks.

What we do know is that the Asus Eee PC T91features an 8.9 inch swivel touchscreen. You can straighten it to expose a keyboard, as with any netbook. At the same time you can also swivel it and fold it over the keyboard, effectively converting the Eee T91into a tablet PC. Moreover, unlike other tablet PCs this one is touch sensitive. So, if the stylus is not handy go ahead and tap on the icons on the screen with your fingers.

Apparently, the T91is lightweight and tilts the scales at 2.1 pounds. It will be powered by the Intel Atom Z520 processor, which means that it will not have enough power to run a lot of applications or support gaming. It will also sport a TV tuner and GPS. The Eee PC T91 will be available in a range of colors from March – April 2009.
