ViewSonic have announced what they say lays claim to being the world’s first 24” 1080p (Full HD) HDTV in the form of their new widescreen ViewSonic VT2430 HDTV which comes with OptiSync technology as well as HDMI with HDCP, analog VGA, component, S-video, composite and TV/cable connectivity.
ViewSonic’s VT2430 HDTV boasts 10,000:1 contrast ratio, 19:6 aspect ratio, 1920 x 1080 resolution whilst also offering 1360 x 768 ‘optimum PC resolution’, 5ms response time, 170̊/160̊ horizontal and vertical viewing angles, integrated stereo speakers rated as 2×5W and comes complete with integrated ATSC/NTSC/QAM TV tuner.
A more than capable TV but, probably, more suited to use with HD console gaming systems or as a PC monitor on account of its screen size (few would want a 24” full HD TV in their front room, we suspect – unless it’s a particularly small room), the ViewSonic VT2430 HDTV will set you back just shy of a not unreasonable $400.
