In deciding to post about this decidedly geeky and frankly fantastic Applause Machine designed by Martin Smith and made available via Laikingland we accept that, in terms of detail, there’s not a great deal we can write, however, we simply could not pass up on featuring it here on TFTS as, well, we think its nothing short of brilliant (albeit in a particularly wacky way).

There is, it must be said, not a great deal of complexity here and certainly, in terms of high tech innovation, well, the Applause Machine can hardly hold its hands up (this was an attempt at a pun – we accept that its failed miserably) as being at the cutting edge of anything. But, and it’s a big but, in terms of sheer poetry the Applause Machine is nothing short of magnificent.
Measuring in at 45cm/18” in height and constructed from powder coated steel, brass, wood, plastic and a small motor powered by two AA batteries the premise of the Applause Machine is put rather succinctly as thus: ‘Push the button and the Applause Machine claps it’s hands for you.’ Brilliant.
The Applause Machine is available in a range of colors and will set you back £195 (circa $291) as at the time of writing and we love it.
