The ASUS Eee PC 1002HA Netbook was launched this past weekend. Lightweight and feature-packed, the PC 1002HA is targeted at those people who wish their mobile computers to be as light as possible. To this end, the Eee PC 1002HA features brushed aluminum for both the LCD and the palm rests resulting in a mere 1.2 kg of weight.

However, despite its sleekness the ASUS model is durable and feature-rich. Some of the features include – a 10″ LED display, a digital array microphone, a 1.3 megapixel built-in webcam, Bluetooth connectivity, multi-touch touchpad for smooth navigation, option between Linux and Windows OS, built-in 4-in-1 card reader capable of reading MMC, SD, Memory Stick and MS-PRO media formats, and much more.

The Super Hybrid Engine (SHE) on the Eee PC 1002HA consists of two applications – the Power4 Gear Hybrid application and the Energy Processing Unit (EPU). Both contribute to useful power management by detecting the user’s power needs based on the activities being carried out. This latest ASUS model features two 4200mAh cells that can give up to five hours of operation time.

For a sleek machine, the Eee PC 1002HA Netbook has an impressive storage capacity – 160GB to be exact. Users can also avail 10GB of online storage on the ASUS site, a nice idea for file and multimedia exchange between friends and colleagues. The online storage also serves as backup for important data.
