Sony is set to debut its latest and most advanced Walkman at the CES 2009. The new unbelievably sleek Walkman will feature 16Gb and 32Gb storage, wi-fi capacities, and an OLED touchscreen. OLED display capabilities are superior to those offered by LED displays so one can expect sharp image displays on this device.
The Wi-Fi supports WPA and WEP; it enables you to connect to YouTube by clicking on an artist name. You can subscribe to audio podcasts. Audio codec allows you to listen to music in the following formats – MP3, WMA, AAC, PCM, while video codec support is AVC (h.264), MPEG-4 and WMV.
The device features an FM radio and if rumors are to be believed, a fully functional web browser. I guess, if one could add communication features and a camera to the Walkman, it would offer tough competition to the iPhone. That is the beauty of convergence, one never knows, it might even happen.
