OCZ SSD Range Gains New Vertex Series SSDs

OCZ Spearheading Increasing SSD Affordability

OCZ Technology have introduced a new range in its SSD range in the form of the OCZ Vertex Series of SATAII SSDs which, according to OCZ, offers ‘the performance and reliability of SSDs at less price per gigabyte than other high speed offerings currently on the market’ and which are doubtless designed to underpin OCZ as a prime player in the ever developing SSD market.

The OCZ Vertex Series of 2.5” SSDs come in four distinct capacities – namely 30GB, 60GB, 120GB and 250GB – with the first two models boasting 32MB cache whilst he latter two models come with 64MB integrated caches which all four drives delivering read speeds of up to 200MB/s, write speeds of up to 160MB/s and seek times of just 0.1ms whilst requiring a mere 2W of power during operation and a paltry 0.5W consumption in standby mode.

Listed as offering a shock resistance of 1500G and a MTBF of 1.5million hours, the new OCZ Vertex Series of Solid State Drives range in price from $129 to $869.
