The Cuisinart Brick Oven BRK-200 is a counter-top brick oven with real bricks on the inside so that you get to experience the pleasures of traditional brick-oven foods at home. Cuisinart is a sturdily built cooking device with industrial style stainless steel housing. It offers three cooking options – bake, broil, and toast. The sides of the oven are permanently lined with bricks and a removable 12″ square baking stone made of the same brick material. The insides of the oven that are not brick-lined are coated with a non-stick material to facilitate easy cleaning.
A baking tray, broiling pan, and instruction/recipe booklet are provided along with the oven which comes with a three-year warranty. The Cuisinart can be fired to temperatures of 500°F which is beyond the capacity of most small-sized ovens.
At 19.5″ W x 18.5″ D and a volume of .90 cu. ft, the Cuisinart is neither too capacious nor too small, it is just right for baking your favorite hearth bread, pizza, banana bread, chicken roast, broiled fish, and much more. The Cuisinart consumes 1.7 KW of power and is a good energy saver as you don’t have to heat your large oven for the small-to-medium baking jobs. Also, the oven is two-tiered so you can avail multi-level cooking saving both time and energy.
At $250, the oven is not the cheapest one available in the market. The crumb tray has to be removed from the back of the oven which makes it a bit of an inconvenience, also the Cuisinart could have done with a preheat indicator light.
