Without so much as a whimper in terms of an announcement, Haier have launched the latest in their range of internet ready portable media players, the Haier iBiza Sport PMP, which boasts a highly durable, weather resistant design and 802.11g Wi-Fi connectivity and, as per previous devices in their PMP range, full compatibility of RealNetworks’s Rhapsody to Go service for downloading music and podcasts, streaming (AOL) videos and RSS feed support.
Coming with 8GB of onboard storage capacity, the Haier iBiza Rhapsody Sport PMP, which comes in a rather fetching orange (it seems obligatory to offer durable gadgetry in particularly garish colors), sports a 2.5” QVGA (320 x 240 resolution) 65K color LCD display which is ‘skinnable’ using Airskins themes, offers a wide range of file format support (specifically Audio: AAC, MP3, WMA, WAV; images: JPEG, PNG; Video: MPEG-4, WMV, H 264, MPG, AVI, M4V) as well as an integrated FM tuner and, of course, comes with 802.11 b/g wi-fi connectivity as well as a USB mini port (for data transfer and charging).
The Haier iBiza Rhapsody Sport PMP, which measures in at 0.41”x4.1”x2.4” and weighs 3.2 ounces, has just been made available and, thanks to its Wi-Fi connectivity, sells at somewhat of a premium at just shy of $240.
