Since the initial press releases concerning MSI’s EX300 entertainment notebooks back in August there has been some speculation as to whether they would ever eventually see a US release but we can confirm that both MSI’s MSI EX300-018US and MSI EX300-024US are indeed becoming available US based consumers (the MSI EX300-018US having just become available with the MSI EX300-024US being offered for pre-order).
Based on the PM45 + ICH9-M Express Chipset and powered by 2.0Ghz Penryn P7350 Intel Centrino 2 Processors, both the MSI EX300-018US and the MSI EX300-024US sport 13.3” WXGA (1200×800 resolution) TFT displays, utilise ATI’s DDR3 256MB Radeon HD3450 graphics and come with 4GB of DDR2 RAM, 250GB SATA HDDs, integrated 802.11 a/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth V2.0+EDR connectivity and come with DVD Super Multi optical drives.

Additional features include built-in 3-in-1 card reader, embedded fingerprint reader, a 2 megapixel webcam with microphone, and 3 x USB, 1x E-SATA(USB Combo), 1 x RJ45 and, naturally, HDMI output.
Bundled with Vista Premium and offering lightweight alloy construction and measuring in at 11.9” x 9.1” x 1.18” and weighing just 4.5 lbs, the difference between both models appears to be merely the color finish (blue or red).
The red MSI EX300-018US is already available to order via Amazon whilst those looking to avail themselves of the blue MSI EX300-024US can place pre-orders now though no actual date of shipping has, as yet, been issued at the time of writing).
