Microsoft have now, at last, officially confirmed that all the speculation concerning its Xbox 360 Arcade HD gaming console gaining some much needed and long overdue integrated storage capacity was indeed well founded in officially announcing that its Xbox 360 Arcade console is set to begin shipping with a whopping 256MB of built-in storage capacity.
Speaking with Xbox 360 Fanboy (duly credited), an unnamed spokesperson is stated as saying ‘We are constantly updating the console’s more than 1700 internal components. We can confirm that we are moving to internal memory for the Xbox 360 Arcade. The physical internal memory is the same size as the previous external memory units – 256MB’.
Consequently, the new iteration of the Xbox 360 Arcade will allow users to download content and save games without having to rely on the external memory unit previously utilised by Microsoft’s ‘entry-level’ HD gaming console.
No word as yet concerning shipping dates of the newly revised Xbox 360 Arcade console but the moment we have a shipping date confirmed we will, of course, offer an update here.
