Nextar have followed the introduction of its higher-end Q4-MD GPS portable navigation system with two new, cheaper models in the form of the Nextar Q4-01 and the Q4-02, both of which offer 4.3” TFT touchscreens and voice-guided, turn-by-turn prompts utilising digital map data supplied by NAVTEQ.
Measuring in at 4.6″ x 3.2″ x 0.8″ and weighing approximately 2.3 pounds each, the Nextar Q4-01 GPS comes with 1.6 million ‘points of interest’, can store 300 addresses as favourite quick access destinations, offers both 2D and 3D map viewing modes and comes complete with MP3 and JPG file format compatibility – allowing you to listen to music and view imagery – with an SD memory card slot offering bolt on additional storage.
The Nextar Q4-02 GPS is in essence the same as the Q4-01 GPS but comes with what Nextar’s press release states are ‘several key upgrades’ which consist of including maps for Canada and Puerto Rico as well as the 50 US states pre-loaded on a 4GB SD card. Additionally the points of interest rises from the 1.6 million offer by the Q4-01 to over six million.
Supplied with AC adapter, car adapter, USB cable, protection pouch, mounting cradle, dashboard mount disk, mounting bracket, an SD card, and a stylus/touch pen Nextar Q4-01 navigation system retails for just shy of $300 whilst the Q4-02 will set you back just short of $400.
