DXG-579V & DXG-567V Budget HD Camcorders [DXG ‘Holiday Pack’ HD Camcorder Bundles]

DXG, whose budget HD camcorders have appeared previously here on TFTS – specifically the 1080p DXG-595V and the 720p DXG-567V – have announced ‘two festive, affordable and fun high definition (HD) camcorders with special holiday pricing and accessories’ in the form of the ‘Holiday Pack’ editions of the DXG-579V and the DXG-567V (covered previously).

‘This holiday season, more than any other, consumers are looking for ways to maximize their dollar yet not sacrifice quality or cool,’ said Paul Goldberg, senior vice president of sales and marketing for DXG USA. ‘DXG is known for delivering the best value high definition camcorders on the market, and our two holiday bundles give consumers the highest quality video, essential accessories, and prices under $200.’

Accordingly, DXG’s Holiday Pack editions of the DXG-579V and DXG-567V HD camcorders, both of which offer 720p HD video capture, come bundled with a portable tripod and 2 gigabyte SD card as well as a copy of ArcSoft’s TotalMedia Extreme video editing software and protective pouches, rechargeable batteries (with charger), and even AV cables.

Whilst we’ve covered the DXG-567V previously (see above link for details), the DXG-579V is a new product from DXG and offers – on and above 720p HD (1280 x 720) video capture in H.264 video (.mov file format) – 8MP stills capture, a 2.4” flip out display, and takes the form of what DXG terms as an ‘upright’.

Both of DXG’s ‘Holiday Pack’ HD camcorder bundles will become available from Wal-Mart (DXG-567V) and Kohl’s (DXG-579V) from 28 November though DXG’s press release somewhat helpfully omits any specific pricing information.
