Admittedly, the Slegoon, conceived of and designed by Spike Reid, is not a new concept – its been around since 2003 apparently – but the moment we cast our eyes on it we knew that we should feature it here on TFTS not least because Slegooning, as Spike calls it, is apparently yet to take off as an extreme sport and, frankly, we really cannot understand why (Don’t know about you, but we’d jump at the chance for a go in one of these).

From Coroflot:
Slegooning is a new winter sport in which participants travel down a snow-covered slope in single person sledge-type crafts, called Slegoons, in full-contact races. They can continue even when overturned.
The Slegoon won first prize in the UK IOM3 Design Innovation in Plastics competition 2003, sponsored by Bayer AG, and has received international press, from magazines like Blueprint, UK to the SinChew Daily, Malaysia.
There’s no word as to how much one of these Slegoon extreme sports sleds will set you back or even if they’re in production (we assume that they are) but interested parties can contact Spike Reid directly via the credited source and we don’t doubt he’d more than welcome your interest.
