That was for legal reasons. The Fujifilm system is based on Kodak&#039;s system which was taken off the market because it infringed Polaroid&#039;s patents. Fujifilm were able to release theirs with permission from Polaroid, but only in certain countries.

Perhaps Polaroid changed their minds because they were no longer making their old-style (non digital) instant film cameras.</description>
