Opera Mini 4.2 Beta Now Available

Improved YouTube Support, A ‘More Personalized Experience

Opera have just released the latest beta of its Opera Mini web browsing software catering specifically for cell/mobile phone usage, namely Opera Mini 4.2 Beta, which, according to Opera, ‘provides a more personalized experience with its colorful selection of new skins, improved support for YouTube and other mobile video services on a wider selection of mobile phones’.

Offered in various formats – JAR, JAD for standard mobiles/cell phones, PRC for Plam (requiring JVM) and ZIP for Blackberry devices – the new Opera Mini 4.2 Beta comes complete with the reintroduction of Opera 3’s skinning capabilities, support for Oper’s new server park (promising ‘significantly faster page downloads for our users in the Americas and Asia-Pacific region’, improved video capabilities (inclusing enhanced Sony Ericsson and Nokia video support) and Opera Link – allowing the new beta to play ball with Opera Mail.
