Fujitsu Lifebook U820 Mini Tablet Touchscreen Notebook Now Available in US

Fujitsu’s new Atom Z530 powered Lifebook U820 Mini Notebook, which comes with a 5.6” touchscreen WXGA Crystal View display, integrated WiFi, GPS with Garmin Mobile PC and built-in fingerprint reader has now begun shipping.

Coming with a range of options, the highly desirable Atom Z530 1.6GHz Fujitsu Lifebook U820 comes with 1GB DDR2 RAM, 10/100 Ethernet, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, 802.11a/b/g/draft-n WiFi and Bluetooth and a 60GB 4,200rpm HDD (a 120GB HDD is offered as an option as well as a 64GB solid state drive) and Realtek onboard audio. WWAN, whilst not available at this time, is billed as being offered sometime in 2009.
Endurance-wise, Fujitsu Lifebook U820 comes with two battery options, either a standard 2-cell lithium ion battery offering up to 3.5hrs or a high-capacity 4-cell unit offering a purported 7.5hrs of battery life – with the respective weight of the U820 coming in at 590g and 725g respectively depending on which battery pack is utilised.
The Fujitsu Lifebook U820 Mini Tablet Notebook has just been made available in the US with pricing starting at around $1,050.
