Apricot Computers have taken the wraps of their new 1.2GHz VIA C7-M powered Picobook Pro netbook which, Apricot promises, will be offered with an optional WiMAX module and which is set for a UK release at the beginning of November.

Sporting a 1024×600 WSVGA 8.9” display with support for LCD, CRT and TV as well as dual display, the Picobook Pro, which measures in at 230×171x38.7mm and weighs just 0.98kg, is based on the VIA VX800 Unified Chipset paired with integrated VIA Chrome9 HC3 integrated graphics, and sports 1GB DDR2 667Mhz RAM, a 60GB HDD, a built-in 1.3 megapixel webcam, Built-in 10/100 based-T LAN, 3945ABG Wireless LAN 802.11abg, Bluetooth and optional WiMAX connectivity and a purported battery life of up to 4 hours. The seemingly all too obligatory card reader is also, naturally, in evidence.
Supplied with Windows XP, Apricot Computers’ Picobook Pro is available to pre-order now and will set you back around £280 (circa $480) for the basic model.
