Apricot Computers WiMAX Picobook Pro Netbook Set For UK Release

Apricot Computers have taken the wraps of their new 1.2GHz VIA C7-M powered Picobook Pro netbook which, Apricot promises, will be offered with an optional WiMAX module and which is set for a UK release at the beginning of November.

Sporting a 1024×600 WSVGA 8.9” display with support for LCD, CRT and TV as well as dual display, the Picobook Pro, which measures in at 230x171x38.7mm and weighs just 0.98kg, is based on the VIA VX800 Unified Chipset paired with integrated VIA Chrome9 HC3 integrated graphics, and sports 1GB DDR2 667Mhz RAM, a 60GB HDD, a built-in 1.3 megapixel webcam, Built-in 10/100 based-T LAN, 3945ABG Wireless LAN 802.11abg, Bluetooth and optional WiMAX connectivity and a purported battery life of up to 4 hours. The seemingly all too obligatory card reader is also, naturally, in evidence.
Supplied with Windows XP, Apricot Computers’ Picobook Pro is available to pre-order now and will set you back around £280 (circa $480) for the basic model.
