We’ve seen a spate of computer mice designed with the optimum in ergonomics in mind (hence reducing or wholly eliminating aches and strains caused by repetitive movement that can lead to RSI) but, of them all, the HandshoeMouse (which looks like the result of dropping a standard mouse made from putty from a considerable height – but perhaps that’s just us) certainly looks the business. And, inclusive of the previously featured and equally distinctive Swiftpoint TriPed and Swiftpoint Slider mice from Simtrix, if looks alone were enough to convince us of their comfort there’s no doubt that this particular mouse would come right out on top in looking especially accommodating.

Developed to offer ‘the least possible muscular tension in the fingers’ courtesy of a shape that ‘would make it impossible to cling onto the mouse’, the HandshoeMouse has been designed to accept your palm in a flattened state, hence its somewhat ‘squished’ design and, apart from offering an optical scanning resolution of 800dpi it comes with otherwise rather standard features such as just two buttons and, once again, an all too traditional scroll wheel.
Compatible with PCs and Macs, the USB HandshoeMouse is presently being offered in a wired version (with a wireless model due at the end of the year), comes in snow-white, transparent and jet-black and retails for €120 (approximately $166/£93 at the time of writing).
