Hewlett Packard Debuts HP B8550 Five Ink Photo Printer At Photokina

Hewlett Packard chose the Photokina show to debut its new, five ink photo printer, the HP B8550, which, apart from being capable of producing photo quality prints at sizes up to 13×19 inches comes with an integrated memory card reader and 2.4” pivoting LCD screen allowing you to carry out basic editing and printing directly from a wide range of memory cards (including SD/MMC, XD and CF memory cards) without the need to power up your PC.

Offering a maximum print resolution of 1200×1200, the HP B8550 is capable of producing up to 33ppm in black and white and up to a not unimpressive 31ppm in colour as well as producing quality 4×6” photo prints in just 60 seconds and, if the print quality is anything like that produced by HP’s previous Photosmart series of printers (one of which we own and are particularly impressed with) the results are certain to be especially impressive.

Hewlett Packard’s HP B8550 Five Ink Photo Printer will retail for around $300 though, at the time of writing, we are unable to establish its shipping date.
