Samsung have taken the wraps off their latest point and shoot digital camera, referred to presently as the HZ1, which, according to Samsung, is the world’s first compact to offer 10x optical zoom paired with a 24mm wide angle lens and which also comes with 720p HD video capture capabilities at 30fps.

Apart from offering a 24mm wide angle lens with 10x optical zoom, the Samsung HZ1 offers 10.2 megapixel resolution, a 2.7” TFT LCD 230k pixel screen, the Samsung HZ1, which measures in at a pocket friendly 105 x 61.4 x 36.5mm, sports dual image stabilisation, face detection complete with Smile Shot and Blink Detection and a Digital Content Management System (though details concerning this latter feature are not explicitly provided) which may – or may not – include WiFi connectivity once the HZ1 gets to launch.
