Runco have taken the wraps off its latest high-performance 1080p HD projector, the Runco Intros VideoXtreme VX-8, which, according to Runco’s press release, features Runco’s DHD with Vivix, three SuperOnyx DMDs and Runco’s exclusive super-widescreen 2.35:1 CineWide technology and which, as you may already have gathered, comes with what can best be described as a ‘reassuringly expensive’ price tag.
Billed as being ‘Installer Dependent’ – meaning that professional installation is recommended in order to gain the ‘optimum experience’ – the 3 chip Runco VideoXtreme VX-8 comes with no less than seven primary lens options, as well as further options consisting of three CineWide lenses and two CineWide lenses with AutoScope paired with CorrectColor colour calibration and ConstantContrast technologies as well as AxiShift offering lamp life of up to 2,500 hours.
Set to begin shipping in January 09, the Runco VideoXtreme VX-8 projector will retail for around a wallet thumping $20,000 putting it squarely out of reach for the majority of us mere mortals.
