Buffalo Release MicroStation External USB SSD

Buffalo have claimed what they herald as a world’s thanks to their new MicroStation portable SSD range which comes in 32GB, 64GB and 100GB capacity variants and which, thanks to using solid state drive technology – meaning the drive have no moving parts whatsoever – offers not only blisteringly fast transfer speeds but also a level of ruggedness and durability which simply cannot be achieved with standard hard disk drives.

The new Buffalo MicroStation portable SSDs, which measure in at a mere 89mm x 57mm x 14mm and weigh just 60g, connect to your PC or notebook courtesy of a USB 2.0 connection allowing for data transfer speeds of up to a purported 35MB/s when used with the bundled TurboUSB software and offer the same low power consumption as standard SSD units which allow the MicroStation to not only be powered directly via the USB connection but idea for use with laptops and notebooks where battery conservation is paramount.
Supplied with Secure LockWare encryption and Memeo AutoBackup software Buffalo’s MicroStation portable SSDs will set you back around £115/$203, £230/$406 and £344/$607 for the 32GB, 64GB and 100GB versions respectively at the time of writing.
