Nokia N96 Smartphone Destined For US Release

Nokia have announced that their 3G N96 smartphone, which comes with full 850MHz HSDPA support as well as integrated GPS and Wi-Fi, is set to become available in the US as Nokia continues to look for inroads into the highly lucrative US smartphone market.
Due to be made available as an unlocked device, the N96 comes with 2.8” display, 16GB of memory, a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss Optics (with camcorder function) though, in terms of the N96’s GPS functionality, in being supplied as an unlocked device the North American version of the N96 will only come with a three-month trial for Nokia Maps and a single N-Gage racing game and, thanks to carrier discounts not applying, the handset will retail for around a wallet thumping $895.
The North American (unlocked) edition of Nokia’s N96 is due to begin shipping this fall.
