Lexar Intro 16GB Lexar JumpDrive Secure II Plus with Built-in Capacity Meter

Lexar have announced a new version of its Lexar JumpDrive Secure II Plus which serves to double the capacity offered by the previous 8GB Lexar JumpDrive Secure II Plus whilst still sporting the innovative, award-winning built-in capacity meter which allows you to gauge, at a glace, the available storage space on the drive without even plugging the device in.

Intended, according to Lexar, ‘for consumers and small business users who want to securely back up, store and share large files and amounts of data’ the 16GB Lexar JumpDrive Secure II Plus comes supplied with security software pre-loaded allowing users to create multiple password-protected areas using 256-bit AES encryption into which files can be dragged and dropped (and thus encrypted on the fly) as well as ‘file shredder’ functionality allowing users to safely and securely discard unwanted files.

The 16GB Lexar JumpDrive Secure II Plus is due to become available in the beginning of September (’08) and will retail for around $100.
